Therapy Terms and Condition

Our Service

The therapy provided is based on the personal areas of your life that you want to address. You will be asked what these are at the start of your therapy. Your comfort, safety & progress is paramount to us, so please continue to discuss with your therapist how you feel about these things or any other aspects of your work together during each session. We may ask for your feedback and views on how you feel your therapy is progressing, and you will be expected to respond openly and honestly. Progress will be monitored throughout your sessions. Participating in therapy requires effort, openness and active involvement by you.

We make absolutely no claim of specific results. This includes but is not limited to you experiencing an improvement in your personal life, condition, feelings, thoughts or symptoms. We make no guarantee of what you will experience or how you will feel during or after using our service. You must understand that our service may involve remembering or talk about unpleasant events, feelings, or thoughts that may result in you feeling upset, discomfort, disappointment, anger, sadness, worry, fear, anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc. We may challenge some of your assumptions or perceptions or propose different ways of looking at, thinking about, or handling situations.
Piece Into Peace Limited may not directly employ the Therapist you will use for the service. In this case, the subcontracting therapist will be professional, insured and vetted by us. If you want to know more about the approaches your therapist proposes to use/uses, they will be happy to discuss this with you at any time before, during or after your sessions.
Due to a high demand in session times, no sessions will be booked in advance until the advance payment has been made. Please be ready for/arrive on time for all your appointments. If you do happen to be late, you will only receive the remaining time for that session. If you are up to 30 minutes late, your therapist will cancel your session with no refund.

Our Cancellation Policy:

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 (fourteen) days to change your mind and cancel the contract starting from the day after agreeing for Piece Into Peace limited to provide therapeutic service to you. However, if you have booked a therapy session for a time within those 14(fourteen) days, although you can still cancel the contract, we will charge you for any services provided up to that point, plus an administration fee.
Suppose you cancel the contract within 14 (fourteen) days of any booked therapy session(s), and there are only 48 hours until your therapy session starts. You will still be charged for the total amount of that session(s).

Should you wish to opt-out of the course of sessions outside of the 14 (fourteen) days, you will be charged the total price per session for the sessions you have attended or not attended without cancelling within 48 hours, plus the administration fee.
Per our Refund Policy, as shown below, a refund will be provided for any monies owed to you.

Cancellation Of A Session Or Changing The Agreed Time By You

If you wish to cancel or change the time of a booked appointment, we require a minimum of 48hours of notification in writing before the start time of your session. Otherwise, the session will be charged in full. You can notify us by sending an email to admin@pieceintopeace.com. Please provide your name, the therapist’s name, the date and the new time.

Please remember you have committed to undertake this service of your free will. The work is taken seriously and is in place to help you build a better life for yourself. With this in mind, these strict conditions are attached to the sessions. Once you have signed up for the service, you have committed to all the sessions in total. It is your responsibility to ensure that you attend the sessions regularly.

Cancellation Of A Session Or Changing The Agreed Time By Us

We reserve the right to cancel an appointment at short notice. Though this is rare, as much notice as possible will be given. Your session will be re-booked at the next available appointment. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. Suppose you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs or become abusive or aggressive before or during the session. In that case, we reserve the right to cancel that session immediately, and that session will still be charged for.

Non-Attendance Of Sessions

If you stop coming to the sessions you have paid for to continue with your treatment, you will have up to 2 (two) weeks to make contact with us from the date of your last appointment. Otherwise, ALL the remaining sessions will be lost, and you will not be refunded for any remaining sessions. If you fall ill or have a valid reason for not attending sessions within the course of treatment and want them to be put on hold, you MUST contact us as soon as possible to let us know. Paid sessions can be held for 3 (three) weeks from the date of your last booked session.

Special Offers

Sometimes Piece Into Peace Limited will provide special offers or deals. These special offers may be for a limited period. Limited to a certain number of individuals, limited to either Clients or non-Clients, and/or chosen conditions such as anxiety or stress, any or all of which you may not qualify for. Participation in these special offers is voluntary and separate agreements and waiver forms may be required.

Refunds

If you feel the therapy service you have purchased is incorrect in some way, we want to try to make things right. Simply email us with your contact details and clearly state the reason(s) that you are unhappy. Once we’ve had a chance to review your request, we will be in touch. Where we feel a refund is required, we will attempt to process the refund as quickly as possible however it can often take longer than we would like as the payment systems we use have the timeframes that they work to. We may contact you for your bank details to enable us to process the refund quickly.

Refunds to expired or cancelled cards are handled by your card issuer and, in most cases, credited to your replacement card. If no replacement exists, the card issuer usually delivers the refund to you using an alternate method (e.g., check or bank account deposit).

In rare cases, a refund back to a bank card may fail. A refund can fail if your bank or card issuer cannot process it correctly (e.g., a closed bank account or a problem with the card).

The bank will return the refunded amount to us. This process can take up to 30 days from the post date. At that time, you can contact us back if you have not received the refund, and we will then arrange an alternative way of providing you with a refund.

Confidentiality

Notes may be taken during the session. These are to support the work in the sessions and will remain our property and responsibility. Notes will not be issued or copied to you or any other third party during or after therapy has been completed unless required by law, if there is a significant risk of harm to others, or if there are concerns about a child’s safety or a vulnerable adult.

All information disclosed within sessions and any written communications and records about those sessions are confidential and are not to be revealed to anyone without your written permission, except where disclosure is required by law or if there is a significant risk of harm to others or if there are concerns about the safety of a child or a vulnerable adult. Additionally, all therapists are required by the ethical standards set by the profession to discuss their work with a qualified Supervisor. This is intended to support the therapist in their work and personal well-being. Any discussions would never reveal the client’s identifiable details.
In some situations, the therapist must disclose information without your consent or authorisation. These include but are not limited to:

– A court order for information about your therapy if you are involved in litigation
– Government agency requesting information for health oversight activities
– If a client files a complaint or lawsuit against a therapist, they may disclose information about that client to defend themselves
– Worker’s compensation claim requires disclosure to the insurer or third-party administrator
– Small claims court for breach of contract if the client does not pay his or her therapy bill
– Filing of an insurance claim may require we reveal a client’s information, other clinical information such as treatment plans or summaries, or copies of your entire record
– If the client is a minor, the parents have the right to information and the clinical record

Harm To Self Or Others

Suppose we become concerned about your safety, concerned about the possibility of you injuring someone else, or concerned about you receiving proper psychiatric or medical care. In that case, we will do whatever we can within the limits of the law to prevent you from injuring yourself or others and to ensure that you receive the proper care. For this purpose, we may contact the police or hospital. This is, however, very rare. In any circumstances like this, we will attempt to make every reasonable effort to discuss the situation with you first and limit the disclosure to what is necessary.

These include but are not limited to:
– Suspected or known child abuse/neglect
– Suspected or known elder abuse, neglect, exploitation or isolation
– Risk of severe imminent harm to another
– Risk of severe imminent harm to yourself

Dual Relationships

A dual relationship is one where your personal life coincides with the professional relationship you have with your therapist. If you happen to meet your therapist in some other capacity – for example, because you live locally or know some of the same people – the therapist will keep appropriate boundaries and will not let it be known that you are their client.

Sexual involvement between the therapist and you are never part of the therapy process, as well as other actions or dual relationship situations that might impair your therapist’s objectivity, judgement, or therapeutic effectiveness or that could be exploitative. In addition, we will never acknowledge working therapeutically with you without your written permission other than in the rare circumstances outlined in the Confidentiality and Harm to Self or Others sections.

In some instances, even with permission, your therapist will preserve the integrity of the working relationship. For this reason, your therapist will not intentionally accept any invitations via social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or Pinterest, nor will they respond to blogs written by you or accept comments on any blog or public website affiliated with Piece Into Peace limited or themselves personally from you.

We will not voluntarily communicate your information to a third party. To honour and protect our intellectual property, you agree not to disclose or communicate information about our practice, materials, or methods to any third parties.

Litigation Limitation

Due to the nature of the therapeutic process and the fact that it often involves making a full disclosure about many matters which may be of a confidential nature, it is agreed that should there be legal proceedings (such as but not limited to divorce and custody disputes, injuries, lawsuits, etc.), neither you nor your legal representative, nor anyone else acting on your behalf will call on the therapists we use to testify in court or at any other proceeding or us, nor will disclosure of the therapy records be requested.
