Couple Therapy (Relationship Therapy)
Couple therapy (sometimes referred to as relationship therapy/counselling) is a form of therapy that helps couples resolve relational issues.
Dealing with the ups and downs of relationships can be challenging, for example, dealing with constant/repetitive arguments, infidelity, lack of intimacy, children and parenting, finances etc. When issues come up within a relationship, it can affect the tolerance level you have for each other, which can affect the happiness you feel. If you have tried to resolve it yourself and the issue is still there, seeking professional support from a qualified therapist can be highly effective.
Couple therapy aims to help you to reconnect again emotionally and intimately. Forgive, develop good ways to communicate, resolve conflict, and not blame. The therapist is on the side of your relationship to help you to restore it. However, we cannot change your partner or “fix” your relationship. Couple therapy, as with any form of therapy, is only effective if you put in the effort and commitment. You must do the hard work to obtain the relationship you want.
